Game Preview: Marlins vs Mets

Oh boy did the Mets need that win last night! The bats of the New York Mets have been in a slumber for about two weeks now, and those two weeks have felt like two centuries. After a horrid road trip for hitting, the Mets scored 8 runs in the bottom of the first including a grand slam from Amed Rosario.

Now the Mets look to keep the good times going with Jacob deGrom on the mound. He is 2-4 over 7 starts and 40.0 innings with a 3.60 ERA, 3.47 FIP, 1.150 WHIP and 110 ERA+. In the month of May he has tossed 14.0 innings, allowing only 2 runs off 7 hits and 3 walks while striking out 13. His second start of the season was against the Marlins where he allowed 3 hits and a walk, but no runs, over 7.0 innings while striking out an astonishing 14 batters. The Mets bats will get their first 2019 look at Sandy Alcantara who is 1-3 over 7 games and 38.1 innings this year with a 4.93 ERA, 4.71 FIP, 1.617 WHIP and 79 ERA+. In his last two starts he has allowed 9 runs, 7 earned over 10.1 innings from 11 hits and 9 walks. In three games against the Mets last year though he held the Mets to only 4 runs over 19.0 innings despite allowing 9 hits and 10 walks. The Mets have the following numbers on Sandy:
