Game Preview: Mets @ Marlins

The Mets are fresh off a series win in Atlanta and head to Miami to face the fish. Yesterday the Mets got a strong start from Gsellman and several insurance runs in the 9th inning for a strong 5-1 win. Tonight Matt Harvey looks to find some positives in his last couple of starts of the 2017 season.

Harvey is 5-5 over 16 starts and 80.2 innings with a 6.14 ERA, 6.08 FIP and 1.574 WHIP. After an average start against the Reds where he allowed 2 runs from 5 hits and a walk with 5.0 innings he struggled against the Cubs allowing 5 runs from 7 hits and 4 walks in 3.1 innings. In his one start against the Marlins this year he allowed 2 runs, only 1 earned over 6.0 innings from 7 hits and 2 walks. The Marlins have the following numbers against Harvey:

  • Ozuna 7-20, 2B, 3B
  • Stanton 2-17, BB
  • Dietrich 4-17, 2 2B

The Mets bats will take a crack at Dan Straily. He is 9-9 over 30 starts and 167.2 innings with a 4.24 ERA, 4.50 FIP, 1.264 WHIP. He is coming off one of his worst starts of the season where he allowed 8 runs over 6.0 innings allowing 13 hits and a walk. In two starts against the Mets this year he allowed 2 runs from 5 hits and 6 walks over 10.1 innings. The Mets have the following numbers against Dan:

  • d’Arnaud 2-7
  • Cabrera 3-6, 2 2B
  • Flores 1-6
