Last night wasn’t great for the Mets, but it also wasn’t great for the Cardinals so the Mets maintain their wild card spot! Tonight Noah Syndergaard looks to put the Mets back in the win column as they continue their (now less than) three week race to close out the season.
Noah is 13-8 on the year over 28 games and 27 starts with a 2.48 ERA in 167.0 innings. In his last four starts he has pitched to a 3-1 record over 27.0 innings with a 1.00 ERA. However, things haven’t been the greatest against the Nationals this year as he is 1-3 in as many starts allowing 19 hits and 10 runs over 21.2 innings of work. The Nationals have the following numbers on him:
- Harper 5-16, 2B
- Rendon 5-16, 2B, HR
- Werth 2-14
- Espinosa 2-12
- Ramos 4-12
- Revere 4-11
- Robinson 2-9, 2 HR
- Murphy 2-9, 2B
The Mets will take a crack at A.J. Cole who is 1-2 over 4 games and 23.2 innings this year with a 4.56 ERA. He started off his major league career rough allowing 7 ER over 12.2 innings, then he faced the Mets and held the Mets to 1 ER over 6.0 innings at the start of the month. Since then he has allowed 4 ER over 5.0 innings. The Mets have the following numbers on Cole:
- K Johnson 1-4, 2B
- Bruce 1-3
- Cabrera 2-2, HR
- Cespedes 0-3
- Flores 0-2
- Reyes 0-3
Let’s Go Mets!
