Game Preview: Mets @ Dodgers

The Mets dropped the first game of the series with the Dodgers last night despite a lead off homer from Curtis Granderson. (Really, it was some errors in the field that led to Niese allowing 5 runs). Tonight, Jacob deGrom comes back to the rotation as he squares off against Greinke.

Jacob was on a roll before landing on the DL with a 2.87 ERA over 16 starts and 2.87 ERA and 100.1 innings of work. In his last 6 starts he has a 5-0 record with an 1.55 ERA over 40.2 innings. His second start of his career was against the Dodgers where he allowed 3 ER over 6.0 innings while walking 3 and striking out 4. The Dodgers have the following numbers against deGrom:

  • Gonzalez 1-3, HR
  • Gordon 0-3
  • Kemp 1-3, 2B
  • Puig 1-3, HR
  • Crawford 0-2

Greinke is 12-8 on the season over 25 games and 157.1 innings with a 2.75 ERA. After back to back starts where he allowed 9 runs, 7 earned in 13.0 innings, he shutout the Brewers in his last start over 5.0 innings. He made on start against the Mets earlier this season where he allowed 3 runs, 1 earned over 5.0 innings of work. The Mets have the following numbers against Greinke:
