Double Header Game Preview: Marlins vs Mets

After two days off for the Hurricane, the Mets play two games today against the Marlins as they play an afternoon/night doubleheader. In the Mets last game on Friday night, Capuano gave the bullpen a night off as he dominated the Braves (so, he gave the bullpen off from Thursday through Sunday). In the first game, Dickey will take on Sanchez. In the nightcap, Dillon Gee will take on Ricky Nolasco.

Dickey is 5-11 this season with an ERA of 3.72. In the month of August he has made four starts over 26.1 innings with an ERA of 3.42. He has faced the Marlins only once this season as he pitched 6 innings, allowing 5 hits and one unearned run. The fish have the following numbers against Dickey:

Infante 9-16, 2B, HR

Sanchez 5-11, 3 2B, HR

Dobbs 1-7, 3B

Morrison 1-6

The Mets bats in the first game will take on Sanchez, who is 7-6 this season with a 4.01 ERA. In the month of August he has made 4 starts over 22.0 innings and a 5.73 ERA.
