Some quick hits to go with your Monday morning Diet Coke with Bacon*:
1) The Mets won their sixth consecutive home series yesterday as they took the rubber game from the Twins and moved back to a half game out of first place. The Mets will be taking the show on the road tonight as they start 7 game road set against the Marlins (in Puerto Rico) and then a set in DC.
2) Well don't expect to see Bobby V. managing against the Mets over the next few days. In fact, you might not want to expect seeing that period. Its no secret he wants to manage a winning team if he comes back, and he's not sure if wants to manage the Marlins. The only thing that is certain is that it seems the reports of him being close to becoming the manager of the Marlins are misleading and probably false at this point.
3) Branyan was traded to…the Mariners? This seems odd but it is also pretty well known the Indians were trying to just move him so they can bring LaPorta up to the majors.
