The Mets go for their sixth straight win and second straight series this afternoon against the Nationals. The Mets are about to depart on a tough, 10 game road trip but before they head to the airport they have one more thing left to do – beat the Nationals again.
Last night the Mets fired on all cylinders, crushing the Nationals 10-0 behind good hitting and pitching. Carlos Carrasco looks to keep the good pitching going as he makes his 10th start of the season. So far he has pitched 52 innings with a 3.98 ERA, 2.81 FIP, 1.154 WHIP and a 99 ERA+. He is coming off of a roughs tart against the Phillies where he allowed five runs from six hits and a walk in 5 2/3 innings. Carrasco has faced the Nationals twice this season, the first time he allowed one run over 5 2/3 and the second time he allowed two runs over 6 2/3. The Nationals have the following numbers against him:

Evan Lee will make his major league debut for the Nationals this afternoon. The Nationals DFA’d Aaron Sanchez over the weekend, creating an opening in their rotation. They also have Strasburg on the way, the so it is unclear how long Lee will stay in the rotation. Lee was drafted by the Nationals in 2018 and has played in the Rookie League, the New York Penn League, High A East and Double A (he has not pitched a game at Triple A yet). For Harrisburg this season he has made seven starts, totaling 30.0 innings with a 3.60 ERA and 1.333 WHIP. His last four outings he has made it to the fifth inning or later, topping out at 65 pitches – which gives us an approximate idea of his maximum length for today.
