The Mets try to shake off their second series loss of the year while they welcome the Phillies to Citi Field tonight. The Mets are coming off of a wild road trip that involved snow in Colorado and a crazy back and forth loss in San Francisco a few days ago. The Phillies are coming off of a four game series split with the Braves.
Carlos Carrasco looks to give the Mets a step back to normalcy tonight. He has a 3.50 ERA, 2.94 FIP, 1.144 WHIP and a 112 ERA+ over eight starts and 46 1/3 innings. In his last start he allowed only one run over 5 1/3 innings against the Rockies, allowing seven hits and only one run. This will be Carrasco’s first start against the Phillies this season. Last season he made one start against the Phillies and held them to two runs from five hits and two walks in six innings of work. The Philies have the following career numbers against Carrasco:
- Nick Castellanos 10-46, 4 2B, 3 BB, 14 K
- Didi Gregorius 3-16, 2B, 3 K
- Jean Segura 7-16, 2B, 3 HR, 3 K
- Bryce Harper 1-6, BB, K
- J.T. Realmuto 2-7, 2 K
- Odubel Herrera 1-3
- Kyle Schwarber 0-3, K
- Rhys Hoskins 0-1, BB, K
The Mets draw Bailey Falter for his second start of the season. Over five games, mostly in relief, Falter has pitched 12.0 innings with a 3.75 ERA, 4.64 FIP, 1.250 WHIP and a 109 ERA+. His last outing was his first start of the season and it went well, allowing only one run from five hits over 4 2/3 innings. Most notably in that start, he tossed 65 pitches, where previously he hit around 30 pitches three times. This includes an outing against the Mets where he tossed 32 pitches over two innings allowing a run off of a hit and a walk. The Mets have the following numbers against Falter:
- Pete Alonso 0-1
- Mark Canha 0-1
- Eduardo Escobar 1-1, 3B
- Francisco Lindor 0-0, BB
- Starling Marte 0-1

Let’s Go Mets!
