Game Preview: Mets @ Yankees

The Mets look to start anew tonight against the Yankees. Last night was the first time deGrom looked human all year, allowing 3 runs in the first inning, then he returned to his normal dominating status. The Mets would tie the game in the 9th inning, but then give it back to the Braves in the bottom frame.

Taijuan Walker looks to make the Mets forget about last night’s almost comeback. He has made 14 starts and pitched 79.1 innings this year with a 2.38 ERA, 2.93 FIP, 1.034 WHIP and a 161 ERA+. Walker is coming off a good game against the Phillies where he pitched 5.0 innings, allowing 3 hits and a walk while striking out 5. Walker faced the Yankees last year in back to back starts. in the first start he allowed 2 hits and walked 5 batters, but no one scored over 4.0 innings. In the second start he allowed 6 hits in 1.2 innings leading to 1 earned run and 7 unearned runs. The Yankees have the following numbers against Walker:
