In the night cap, led by Pete Alonso‘s 22nd homer, the Mets repaid the favor and beat the Yankees 10-4. Jason Vargas was human, allowing 3 runs, but continued his trend of pitching deeper in games so it didn’t matter as much.
Now it’s deGrom’s turn! Jacob deGrom is 3-6 over 13 games and 75.2 innings with a 3.45 ERA, 3.12 FIP, 1.150 WHIP and 116 ERA+. In his last four starts he has allowed 6 runs over 23.2 innings, a 2.28 ERA.
