The Mets have only played two games this season against teams not in the NL East, and they will more than double that amount after this weekend as they start a three game series with the Cardinals. The Mets are coming off a series loss to the Phillies in Philly. On Tuesday they were thumped on 14-3 and on Wednesday they lost 3-2 with the bases loaded in the top of the ninth.

After a good start on April 2nd, where he allowed 2 runs over 5.0 innings, he allowed 8 runs over 1.1 innings between an inning of a relief and a start where he could only get 1 out. Last year in a shortened season, Adam tossed 40.1 innings over 8 games with a 4.46 ERA, 4.28 FIP, 1.463 WHIP and a 88 ERA+. He missed the Mets in 2018 but in 2017 he pitched against the Mets twice holding them to 4 runs, 3 earned, over 12.1 innings from 11 hits and 2 walks while striking out 10.
