Game Preview: Mets @ Yankees

The Mets and Yankees make up a rain out tonight! The Mets are fresh off a series win in Miami where in the rubber game they rode 7.0 innings from Syndergaard and some timely hitting from Conforto and Reyes (thus cementing his position on the 2019 team) into the win column.

The Mets send out Jacob deGrom and I don’t know how Yankee fans should react. Scared because he’s one of the best pitchers in baseball right now? Or content because the Mets rarely score for him? The Mets bucked that trend in deGrom’s last outing scoring 8 runs. On the season he is 6-7 over 23 games and 152.1 innings with a 1.77 ERA (league leading), 2.20 FIP (league leading), 0.965 WHIP and 212 ERA+ (league leading). Since the start of July deGrom has posted a 1.60 ERA in 45.0 innings and has posted a 1.29 ERA in 14.0 innings in August.
