Game Preview: Mets @ Marlins

The Mets open up a series with the Marlins after taking a series with the Reds on Wednesday. After a late, half washed out game on Tuesday night where the Mets lost 6-1, they rebounded on Wednesday when they actually gave Jacob deGrom run support. The Mets won 8-0 behind a dominant deGrom and two players collecting three hits (Austin Jackson and Brandon Nimmo).

Wheeler is on the mound for the Mets tonight. He is 6-6 over 21 starts and 127.1 innings with a 3.89 ERA, 3.42 FIP, 1.249 WHIP and 97 ERA+. In his last two starts he has tossed 13.0 scoreless innings allowing 8 hits and 2 walks while striking out 18. Since June 27th he has posted a 2.17 ERA over 45.2 innings. His first start this season was against the Marlins and it was a good one where he allowed 1 run over 7.0 innings. He then faced them in May allowing 3 runs, 1 earned over 6.0 innings. The Marlins have the following numbers against Zack:

The Mets bats will look to continue what they started on Wednesday against Jose Urena who is 3-11 over 22 games and 123.2 innings with a 4.66 ERA, 4.21 FIP, 1.261 WHIP and 80 ERA+. He is coming off of his worst start of the season where he allowed 6 runs over 5.0 innings from 8 hits and 2 walks against the Phillies and overall in his last four games has posted an ERA of 7.58. He faced the Mets way back in April where he allowed 3 runs over 5.0 innings. The Mets have the following numbers against him:
