Game Preview: Mets @ Marlins

The Mets start a series with the Marlins today in Miami. If this feels redundant, it is! The Mets just wrapped up a three game series with the Marlins at home where Miami took the first two games and the Mets were able to salvage the third.

Robert Gsellman wasn’t the best in his first start of the season as he allowed 3 ER over 5.0 innings and 6 hits against the Marlins but he only walked 2 batters and he struck out 7 (and gave up a massive homer to Ozuna). Coupled with his Opening Day outing, he has now allowed 3 ER over 6.0 innings this year, or exactly average. The Marlins have the following numbers against him:

  • Bour 0-2, BB
  • Pzuna 1-3, HR
  • Realmuto 1-3, 3B
  • Rojas 1-1, 2B
  • Stanton 3-3 (All singles, so that’s an accomplishment, right?)
  • Yelich 0-3

The Mets will see Wei-Yin Chen for the second time this season. He made his debut against the Mets where he held them to 1 ER over 6.0 innings and 7 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Last year he went 5-5 over 22 games and 123.1 innings with a 4.96 ERA. The Mets have the following numbers against him:

  • Cabrera 3-22, HR
  • Granderson 5-20, 2B, 2 HR
  • Cespedes 5-19, HR
  • Reyes 4-15, 2B
  • Rene Rivera 4-10, 2 2B
  • Walker 2-7, 2B
  • Flores 1-5

Let’s Go Mets!
