The Mets walked off the Dodgers last night and look to keep rolling tonight. Yesterday Jacob deGrom put together a fantastic outing going 7.0 innings, striking out 7 holding the Dodgers to 1 run. Then Familia allowed 4 runs to blow the save for the first time in a while but it was ok because Curtis Granderson smacked a winning homer in the next inning. Also an important note, David Wright hit a homer for a third consecutive game. Now the Mets look to get to Maeda behind Noah Syndergaard.
Syndergaard is 5-2 over 9 games with 60.1 innings with a 1.94 ERA and 76 K’s. In his last two starts he has allowed 1 run, 0 earned, over 14.0 innings with 21 K’s. His start before that was against the Dodgers where he went 8.0 innings with 2 ER while striking out 6 batters. The Dodgers have the following numbers against Noah:
- Kendrick 1-11
- Gonzalez 2-9, HR
- Grandal 1-7, HR
- Seager 2-8, HR
- Utley 1-8
- Turner 2-6, 2 2B
Maeda is 3-3 over 9 starts and 52.0 innings with 48 K’s this year while posting a 3.29 ERA. His last three starts haven’t been the greatest where he pitched 14.0 innings allowing 12 ER with a 7.71 ERA including a start against the Mets where he allowed 4 ER over 5.0 innings. It’s worth noting most of the Mets offense in that start came from two homers via Noah Syndergaard. The Mets have the following numbers against Kenta:
- Cabrera 0-3
- Cespedes 1-3
- Conforto 1-3
- Granderson 0-3
- Walker 1-3, 2B
- Syndergaard 2-2, 2 HR
Let’s Go Mets!
