Game Preview: Braves vs Mets

The Mets look to get back on the winning track as they welcome the Braves to Queens! Yesterday the Mets ended their 8 game winning streak after Bumgarner and the Giants were able to beat Syndergaard. Syndergaard was fine with the exception of one inning, and the Mets were getting hits, they just couldn’t string them together or finish the job. It happens. Now Bartolo looks to bring them back to the correct column.

Colon is 1-1 over 5 games and 4 starts logging 23.2 innings with a 3.42 ERA. Colon was average in his last start against the Reds where he allowed 3 ER over 5.0 innings, striking out 4 while allowing 8 hits. This will be his first start against the Braves this year, last year he went 4-0 over 5 starts and 32.0 innings of work against Atlanta posting a 3.66 ERA. The Braves have the following numbers vs Colon:

  • Markakis 10-44, 5 2B
  • Aybar 7-27, 2B, 3B

The Mets get a look at Mike Foltynewicz today, who is making his 2016 debut. Last year he went 4-6 over 18 games, 15 starts putting in 86.2 innings of work with a 5.71 ERA. He had one start against the Mets allowing 6 runs, 5 earned over 4.1 innings. He has pretty good numbers in the minors this year going 1-2 over 4 games posting a 2.05 ERA. The Mets have the following numbers vs Mike:

  • Duda 3-4, HR
  • Flores 2-4, 2B
  • Granderson 2-4
  • Cabrera 1-3, HR
  • Cespedes 0-3
  • Lagares 1-3
