The Mets look to complete the sweep of the Reds tonight and win their 6th straight game as Matt Harvey takes the mound against Jon Moscot. Last night the Mets recorded their first come-from-behind win game of the season. Going into the 7th inning they were down 3-0 when Cespedes came into to pinch hit with two runners on. He smacked the first pitch he saw just over the left field wall, sending the dugout into a frenzy. Then Granderson hit a triple and Wright got him home. It felt like August 2015/September 2015 all over again!
This season has been tough for Matt Harvey who is 1-3 over 4 games and 22.1 innings with a 5.24 ERA. He finally picked up a win in his last start allowing 2 ER over 5.0 innings while walking one and striking out 5. He faced the Reds twice last year logging 12.2 innings, 3 runs, 2 earned (1.42 ERA), walking 2 and striking out 9. The Reds have the following numbers against Harvey:
- Phillips 3-12, 2 2B
- Votto 3-9, HR
- Cozart 4-8, 2 2B
- Mesoraco 2-5
- Barnhart 1-4
- De Jesus 2-5, 2 2B
Jon Moscot is 0-1 over his first two starts of the season where he has pitched 10.2 innings allowing 9 hits, 7 runs, 6 earned (5.06 ERA) while walking 5 and striking out 4. It’s important to note that both starts are about the same in terms of innings and runs. Last year he started three games logging 11.2 innings with an ERA of 4.63. He has never faced the Mets nor has he faced anyone on the Mets roster while they were with other teams.
Let’s Go Mets!
