Game Preview: Mets @ Marlins

The Mets had the day off yesterday after beating the Phillies at home and the Nationals won on the road, keeping things where they were in the loss column. Jacob deGrom gets the start tonight. On the season he is 12-7 over 25 starts and 163.0 innings with a 2.32 ERA. He responded to his worst start of the year with a 6.0 inning, 2 ER outing last time out against the Red Sox striking out 10 batters. He only faced the Marlins once this year and it was way back in April where he held the Marlins scoreless over 7.0 innings while striking out 8. The Marlins have the following numbers against deGrom:

  • Ozuna 3-14
  • Yelich 3-13
  • McGehee 3-11, 2B
  • Hechavarria 3-10, 2B
  • Gordon 3-9
  • Bour 1-3

The Mets bats will get another look at Tom Koehler who is 8-13 over 26 games, 25 starts and 150.2 innings with a 4.12 ERA. He has had an August to forget going 0-6 in as many starts over 33.2 innings with a 6.68 ERA. He had a couple of good starts in that mix but he also had some clunkers including a 7 R, 6 ER start over 4.1 innings against the Mets. In three starts against the Mets he has allowed 19 runs, 18 earned over 11.0 innings. The Mets have the following numbers against Tom:

  • Tejada 7-20, 4 2B
  • Wright 6-22, 3 2B
  • Lagares 6-23, 3B
  • Granderson 3-16
  • E Young 1-12, 2B
  • d’Arnaud 4-11, 2 2B
