Game Preview: Rockies vs Mets

The Mets and Nationals both won last night, so the everything stayed the same. The Mets were leading early 1-0 before the Rockies took a 2-1 lead. Luckily through some clutch hitting from Murphy and power from d’Arnaud, the Mets were able to pull ahead 4-2 and shut the door. Tonight Matt Harvey looks to get it done against Chris Rusin.

Matt Harvey is 10-7 over 21 starts and 140.0 innings with a 2.76 ERA. Since June 16th, Harvey has made 9 starts with a 4-3 record and 60.1 innings with a 1.64 ERA while striking out 49. On a smaller scale, in his last two starts he has allowed one run over 14.2 innings with 15 K’s. One of his best starts in 2013 was against the Rockies where tossed a complete game shut out. The Rockies have the following numbers against Harvey:

  • Blackmon 1-7
  • Descalso 1-4
  • LeMahieu 0-5
  • Hundley 2-4
  • Stubbs 0-3
  • Arenado 1-3
  • Gonzalez 0-3
  • Reyes 0-3

Chris Rusin is 3-4 over 14 games, 12 starts this year and 75.1 innings with a 4.66 ERA in his first season with the Rockies. In his last three starts he is 0-1 over 15.0 innings allowing 13 earned runs (7.80 ERA). He has never faced the Mets during his time with the Cubs and obviously this year with the Rockies, but has limited exposure to a few Mets:

  • Uribe 1-4
  • Cespedes 1-2
  • K Johnson 0-1
  • Carlos Torres 0-1 (Seriously)
