The Mets finished their weekend on a high note, avoiding the sweep from the Marlins and now they are only a half game back behind the Nationals for the division lead on the first day of June. Familia really was the star of the game yesterday. A case can be made for Colon or Flores, but it comes down to Familia getting those 5-outs. Tonight the Mets find themselves on the West Coast for the first time this year as they start a series with the new-look Padres.
Jacob deGrom is 5-4 over 10 starts and 63.0 innings with a 2.71 ERA while striking out 63 batters. In his last three starts he is 2-0 over 21.1 innings with a 1.27 ERA and 26 strikeouts. This will be deGrom’s first start against the Padres but there are a few batters who have seen him:
- J Upton 2-9
- Kemp 2-6, 2B
- Solarte 0-3
Andrew Cashner is 2-7 over 10 starts and 63.0 innings with 3.00 ERA. He is coming off of an average start of allowing 3 ER over 7.0 innings vs the Angels after an excellent start (1 run, none earned over 6.0). Last year he allowed 4 ER over 8 hits and 6.0 innings against the Mets who have the following numbers against Andrew:
- Cuddyer 4-14, 2B, HR
- Duda 2-5, 2 2B
- Murphy 0-4
- Tejada 1-4
- Granderson 0-3
- Mayberry 1-1
Lets Go Mets!
