While you were sleeping, Ike Davis pitched a 1-2-3 inning for the Athletics.
The Angels beat the Athletics last night by the score of 14-1. Rather than burning the bullpen more in the 8th inning, the Athletics turned to Ike Davis who actually did fine. Not only was it a 1-2-3 inning but he only had to throw 9 pitches.
Granted, the Angels up 14-1 in the 8th were probably swinging more than they would normally, and we can speculate about whether they were good hacks or not, but the results stand and Davis had a perfect inning of relief.
