Game Preview: Mets @ Braves

The Mets head down to Atlanta to start a series with the Braves who are in the midst of a playoff race. For the Mets, the Braves have given them fits all year, so it would nice to see the Mets finish strong against their division rival. Tonight Wheeler will get the start for the Amazin’s as the Mets bats will get to see Julio Teheran.

Zack Wheeler is 10-10 over 30 starts and 174.1 innings this year with a 3.61 ERA. After five great starts in a row where Wheeler has posted 30.0 innings with a 2.70 ERA. His last start against the Nationals was not so great as he allowed 6 ER over 4.0 innings. He is 0-2 against the Braves this year with a 3.70 ERA over 4 starts and 24.1 innings while striking out 23. The Braves have the following numbers against Zack:

  • Freeman 7-13, 2 2B, HR
  • Simmons 4-18
  • Heyward 7-19, 2 2B, 2 HR
  • C Johnson 2-17
  • J Upton 0-18
  • BJ Upton 3-10, 2B
  • Gattis 1-11, 2B

Julio Teheran is 13-12 this season over 31 starts and 209.0 innings while posting a 2.89 ERA. In his first All-Star season he is coming off of a strong start allowing no earned runs over 8.0 innings in his last start. In three starts against the Mets this year he is 2-1 over 16.2 innings with a 3.78 ERA. The Mets have the following numbers against Julio:
