Game Preview: Braves vs Mets

The Mets opened up the season series with the Braves last night with a close 3-2 win thanks to great defense from Lagares and another Lagares homer. Plus, the Mets won with Murphy and Wright getting the night off, something that doesn’t happen too often. Tonight Julio Teheran gets the start for the Braves as he squares off against Zack Wheeler.

Wheeler is 9-8 on the season over 26 games and 152.2 innings with a 3.48 ERA. In his last two starts he has allowed 6 runs, 4 earned over 12.1 innings with 13 strikeouts. In three games this year and 17.1 innings he has a 4.15 ERA. The Braves have the following numbers against Wheeler:

Julio Teheran is 12-9 over 27 games and 182.2 innings with a 2.96 ERA. After back to back poor starts to start off the month (11 ER, 13.1 innings) he has now allowed 2 ER over 12.0 innings.
