Game Preview: Nationals vs Mets

The Mets dropped the second game of the series last night and now are looking at a four game losing streak as they go into tonight's game. They will have to try to turn it around with Mike Pelfrey tonight as he takes on Brad Peacock of the Nationals.

Mike Pelfrey is 7-11 on the season with a 4.66 ERA over 177.2 innings of work. In his last four starts he is 3-1 wit 23.1 innings pitched over a 5.01 ERA. He has made one start against the Nationals this year where he allowed 3 ER in 4.2 innings of work. The Nationals have the following numbers against Big Pelf:

Zimmerman 11-48, 2B, HR

Weth 8-30, 2B, 3B

Desmond 4-14, 2 2B, 3B, HR

Ankiel 5-11

The Mets bats will get a look at Brad Peacock tonight, who has pitched 1.1 innings in the majors, allowing 4 hits and one walk. Between two leagues in the minors this year, he was 15-3 with a 2.39 ERA over 146.2 innings of work. This will be his first major league start.
