The Mets and Braves play an evening/night doubleheader tomorrow as the Mets look to continue their recent winning ways. Last night the Mets in their last game in Sun Life Stadium, the Mets won close game by the score of 1-0 with another solid performance from Josh Stinson. In the afternoon game, Chris Schwinden gets the start against Mike Minor. In the night cap, Dillon Gee will get the start against Julio Teheran.
Schwinden will be making major league debut tonight. On the season he is 8-8 with a 3.87 ERA over 148.2 innings of work. He was a 22 round pick by the Mets back in 2008. Needless to say (but I'm saying it anyway) since this is major league debut, he does not have any official data against anyone on the Braves.
He will be going up against Mike Minor who is 4-2 on the season with a 4.09 ERA. Against the Mets this season he pitched 10.0 innings allowing 14 hits and 9 earned runs. The Mets have the following numbers against Mike:
Bay 2-4
Turner 2-4
Wright 0-5
Reyes 2-4, 3B
Tejada 2-4
Dillon Gee gets the start for the nightcap and he is 12-5 on the season with a 4.48 ERA. His last start was a doozy as he allowed 6 ER in 5 innings of work. He has been quite effective against the Braves this year as he has a 2.49 ERA in 4 starts over 21.2 innings of work. The Braves have the following numbers against Dillon:
Gonzalez 5-12, 2 2B, HR
Prado 2-11
McCann 2-10, 2B
Uggla, 2-11, 2B, 3B
The Mets bats will get to look at Julio Teheran in the nightcap. In two games this season, back in May, he pitched a total of 8.2 innings with a 5.19 ERA. He has been fantastic in the minor leagues though as he has a 15-3 record with an ERA of 2.55. He has not faced the Mets franchise or anyone batter on the Mets.
Let's Go Mets!
