Some quick hits to go with your Monday morning Plain Bagel:
1) The Mets have to make it interesting every single game. Yesterday opened up with an offensive explosion as the Mets jumped to a 8-0 start but fell apart from the 6th inning on as the Mets ended up allowing 3 runs in the sixth, 1 in the seventh and 1 in the eigth. By the 9th inning, the score was 9-5 and Parnell allowed the first two runners on, so it was up to K-rod to finish the job, which he did (unlike Saturday's game).
2) The Braves and Phillies lost yesterday, so it was good that the Mets won. They went back to 2 games back and still hold the Wild Card. The Phillies maintained their position at 5 games back.
3) Over at MLB Trade Rumors, the Elias Sports Bureau has posted its a review of players from 2009 to now of whether they are Type A or B or None free agents. Barajas, Pagan, Beltran, Francoeur, Reyes and Castillo are in the B category. Wright is in the A.
