Mets Breakfast: First Place!

Some quick hits to go with your Wednesday morning blueberry muffin:

1) Mets Nation, we woke up to great news this morning. The Mets are in sole possesion of first place. In this homestand, the Mets have gone from four games below .500 to three games above .500 and now have gone from last place in the division to first place. What?

2) The Mets are now 8-1 on the current homestand. In their last 10 games the Mets are 8-2. The only other teams that share that record are the Padres and the Rays.

3) The Mets scored 10 runs for the first time in the season in last night's night cap. Wright broke out of his slump in a big way going 3-3 with 4 RBI's. Ike Davis also had 3 RBI's. In the first game of the evening, Jason Bay finally hit a homer this season.

4) If this afternoon's game ends before 4:10, the Mets will have played 3 games in 24 hours. Another way to think about that is they will have played the entire series in 24 hours.

5) Wright racked up hit 1000 last night.
