The Mets beat the Cards today thanks to a walkoff homer from Pagan this afternoon. In the bottom of the ninth, with a runner on first, Pagan powered one out of park as he hit his first homer of the Spring. Side note, Gary Cohen predicted apparently inbetween the two halves of the ninth inning today that the game would end on a homerun. Anyway, the Mets have now hit 21 homers this Spring and lead the majors (bizzzzarrrrrre). Chris Carter has lived up to his MO hitting three homers already this spring and David Wright in his first 19 AB this Spring has hit 3 homers (not including today's AB's).
The other big story for the Mets today was K-rod. In his spring debut he got a quick ground out, a quick fly out and then finished off the side with a great looking strikeout. This was a performance the Mets really needed to help show that their bullpen can be a force. If you remember, K-rod had a record breaking year with the Angels before coming over to the Amazin's where he was good until he started to stumble towards the end of the season. Lets hope this trend continues. Lets Go Mets!
