Spring Training Game 4: B Squad Takes the Field

The Mets sent only their B-squad players on the road today to Detroit, where they lost 7-2 against a lot of the Tigers starters. If you like young players, than this was your game as a lot of the Mets young stars got chances to play today. Some of them did well, others did not. Here are some highlighted box lines:
The Good:
    Parnell 2.0 IP, 3BB, K
    Pagan 2.4, R, BB, SB
    Thole 1-1, RBI
    Evans 1-2, BB
The Bad:
    Ramon Martinez 0-4, K
    Niese 2.0 IP, 2H, 2ER, 2BB, 2K
    Ruelas 1.0, 2H, 3R, 2ER, 2BB
Despite the 3 walks, Parnell had a good outing. If he can get better control, then he would have had a great outing. Pagan is still continuing to impress and he is really going to enter himself into the bench conversation for the Outfield. Thole had a nice PH as well with his RBI. On the downside, Ramon Martinez really had a terrible game, and he could be leaving camp soon to minor league camp. I was also really hoping Niese would do well to enter himself into the last starter spot, but he couldn't handle the Tigers starters. Hopefully he will have a much better outing next time out. Ruelas really had a terrible outing. The Mets are home against Houston this afternoon and then get a day off.
