Elimination Update

We are one week into September, and there are a good amount of new members to the eliminated from winning the division and eliminated from winning the wild card club. Last update, Seattle, Washington, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh were all eliminated from their divisions and Seattle, Washington, and San Diego were all eliminated from the Wild Card. While no other team has joined Seattle and Washington from being eliminated all together, both groups have new members.

In the Division races, the Athletics and the Orioles were both eliminated from their divisions. The Royals, Braves, and Pirates were all eliminated from the Wild Card. That brings a total of 6 teams out of the Wild Card, and 6 teams that cannot win their divisions. So who is next to go?
Approaching Wild Card Eliminations:
     San Fransisco, Baltimore: 1
     Oakland, Cincinnati: 2
     Colorado: 4
Approaching Division Eliminations:
     Atlanta: 1
     Kansas City, San Diego: 2
     Texas: 3
     Detroit: 9
There are a few things to look for in this list here. The first is that the next couple of days could be nuts with a bulk of eliminations. Then after that, there will be a break from eliminations for a while because after these teams, we are really getting to teams that have legitimate chances still of making the postseason. That being said, when Texas gets eliminated, the Angels will be the first team to clinch a spot in the postseason by being the 2008 AL West Champions. A lot can happen in the next couple of days, keep your eyes on the scores, or right here.
