Friday's Game: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Last night was overall frustrating. The offense went away on a vacation, but the pitching showed up to work. Because of that, we should really look at three aspects of the game. First, as hinted by the title, is the good. The Pitching is easily the good. Pelfrey allowed 3 runs (2 earned) over 7 innings, that of course is good. He did all he could to keep the Mets into the game. Then the pen came out, another great day for them. So no blame goes to the pitching last night. There is also one hitter who escapes blame as well, and that would be Murphy.

The Bad is pretty simple. We lost. Thats bad.

The ugly goes to the offense. I know Myers is good right now, but thats no excuse to get shut out and get nothing going for 8 innings. And the Mets couldn't hit against Lidge in the ninth. We gotta hope that they think about their hitting on today's “surprise” day off and put on an offensive display on Sunday. Thats really all we can say about last night. Some parts of the night sucked, some parts were pretty good, but the good parts were severly overshadowed by the bad parts because in the end, the game resulted as a loss.
